Serenity Now

Another vote, this time for "Serenity," a fun, funny, if flawed science fiction flick by Josh Whedon that went mostly unnoticed. Whedon, creator of "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" (and its spinoff, "Angel") also made a short-lived but intriguing sci-fi western TV series called "Firefly" that got cancelled before he could complete the first-season story arc. So this movie gave us closure - along with a few surprises for anyone with certain expectations after watching the series.

  • I think I saw things in the wrong order. I have vague recollections of seeing the movie but it didn't intrigue me greatly. But last summer as I had a recovery weekend and watched a Firefly marathon on SciFi channel. That was a very cool series.

I liked the Wild West in space theme and some of the characters were great fun.
